			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our executive met on the 17th June and discussed the following items:</p>
<ol>
<li>Club Library: Craig has purchased Master Presenter pack by Darren La Croix.  In 2001 Darren was Toastmasters World Champion Public Speaker.  The pack will be part of the club library.  A borrowing system will be set up allowing members to borrow CDs.</li>
<li>Tuesday meeting in the auditorium for three weeks time.  Peter will follow up and do advertising signs for the day.</li>
<li>Club Election to be included in meeting announcements for the week of Tuesday 29 June.</li>
<li>Craig has ordered 20 welcome packs.</li>
<li>Maureen &#8211; Check if there is a receipt book in the library bag.</li>
<li>Jess and Craig looking into Easy Speak.</li>
<li>Maureen – adding a club flyer to Dickson library notice board.</li>
<li>Richard – idea – Club Evening Function Friday night – Richard will organise for mid August.</li>
<li>Peter – idea &#8211; Speaking Event: set up soapbox by the Lake.  Advertise event in “The Canberra Times Fridge Door”.</li>
<li>Badge presentation award to Craig at Club meeting on Tuesday 29 June.</li>
<li><strong>Coming Events</strong>: ANU Debate in October/November.</li>
</ol>
<p>Next Executive Meeting in eight weeks, (Thursday 12 August), at the Pancake Parlour.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our executive met on the 6th May and discussed the following items:</p>
<li>Club Executive Election to be held at next Tuesday&#8217;s Toastmaster&#8217;s meeting.</li>
<li>12 new members since the start of the year.  New member email process working well.</li>
<li>Banking -  we were considering using a high interest account but Jared&#8217;s investigations indicate this isn&#8217;t an option for us so no further action for now.</li>
<li>Purchasing -  we agreed to as much as possible avoid the treasurer having to make purchases so that we have adequate separation of duties. Craig offered to conduct purchases whenever needed.</li>
<li>All cash receipts for membership to be issued an immediate receipt.</li>
<li>We agreed that putting a forward agenda on our website would be a good idea and worth investigating further.</li>
<li>Craig discussed a TM product called Easy Speak, designed to make speech scheduling easier. Craig will discuss with Jess. </li>
<li>Print out copies of forms for Timer, Grammarian and General Evaluator and add to library kit bag &#8211; Maureen.</li>
<li>Keep one Competent Communicator Manual and one Competent Leader Manual in  our folder for demo purposes - we might need to order one/both if we don&#8217;t have them. </li>
<li>Amy&#8217;s CL award to be processed &#8211; Craig and Jess to follow up.</li>
<li>Cath -  CL? award to be processed &#8211; Craig and Jess to follow up.</li>
<li>First Tuesday in December (7th) &#8211; Club Christmas lunch.  Members to email ideas.  Craig will send something out. </li>
<li>Trial meeting at  Canberra Museum and Gallery. Professional speaker or Comedian to come and talk. Needs further thought. </li>
<li>Ways of adding extra value to our members:
<ul>
<li>A number of them start their CC manual but don&#8217;t finish, perhaps some encouragement is needed:
<ul>
<li>Prize award (maybe a book?) for completion of tenth speech in Competent Communicator Manual. (Budget up to $50 per award). </li>
<li>Encouraging people to do that next speech</li>
<li>Advertise lucky draw prizes of first and second for early payment of Club fees  &#8211; Jared </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Idea: Public Speaking Section in Civic Library &#8211; Craig to follow up. </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Club flyer for Library Hub noticeboard. Also removable notice for library Hub door and leaflets on Introduction to Toastmasters outside meeting room.</li>

<p>Welcome to the club PinPin and James and welcome back Emerson (Emo).</p>
<p>Emo has been part of our club in the past and has just returned from the Melbourne Comedy Festival performing stand-up comedy. We&#8217;re looking forward to some great fun in the coming weeks and months Emo!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When our members pay their semi annual fees on time they go into a draw for a fabulous prize. Our last lot of subscriptions were due on 12th March and the prize was drawn at our last meeting.</p>
<p>The winner was Cath Herron who won a great book called “Business Communication” from Harvard Business. The second prize was awarded to Richard Pearce – drawing his own ticket – so he declined the prize and the next drawn was Linda Hu, who won a bag of Smarties.</p>
<p>Congratulations to Cath and Linda.</p>
